Like hundreds of other religious buildings in Ukraine, the war left its mark on Vorzel Pentecostal Church. Russian helicopters shot two rockets into the church’s front entrance. The projectiles came through the wall but, miraculously, did not explode. As combat intensified, no government authorities or charities provided aid in the Vorzel area. However, believers in Western Ukraine sent supplies to the front lines, and Vorzel Pentecostal Church’s staff distributed relief to nearby residents. Vorzel Pentecostal’s pastor, Volodymyr Velykiy, explains, “The church turned into a humanitarian hub. There were days we served 700-800 people.” Pray for Vorzel Pentecostal Church and the other Ukrainian churches serving their communities.
- Pray for protection over Vorzel Pentecostal Church’s staff and congregation.
- Pray that the church can continue reaching into nearby communities with Jesus’ love.
- Pray that non-believers are drawn to the church during the conflict.
