Christmas in Thailand

Pray for Thailand during this Christmas season. Garret Boren serves among Thai students. He explains that although people in Thailand celebrate Christmas, “most Thai people have no idea of the connection between Christmas and Jesus, and many have never heard the Christmas story of Jesus’ birth and life.” During December in his ministry, he has spent time on Christmas activities like ornament making,snacks, and Christmas trivia. Later this month, his ministry will host a Christmas party for students. Garret states, “This is important especially for our non-Christian students who may have never heard Jesus’ story.” Pray for this ministry opportunity.

• Pray that the party and meal would create opportunities to deepen relationships.

• Pray for wisdom about the most effective way to present the gospel.

• Pray that the Holy Spirit opens the hearts and minds of Thailand’s students.

PHILIPPINES

Miracle in the Philippines

The Gilpin family serves in Davao City, Philippines. Duane, a friend of Justin Gilpin, began joining Justin in hospital ministry every Tuesday. Justin says that “before joining, he’d (Duane) never been involved in ministry or seen miracles.” Justin and Duane prayed over a boy with a broken femur, and God set it in place as they watched. Justin shares, “The whole room of 20 people eagerly gave their lives to Christ. After this Duane was committed to hospital ministry and he grew in his faith. Today, Duane is leading a team in the hospital equipped with the Holy Spirit reconciling many to Jesus Christ.” Pray for Duane and this city in the Philippines.

• Pray that Duane remains strong in his faith and dedication to ministry.

• Pray that the people of Davao City continue to see God’s hand among them.
