Missionary Training in Ecuador

Pray today for a growing missionary training ministry. Ron and Esther Kenyon-Marcotte work with Timothy’s Abode, a missionary training center in Ecuador. Each new missionary in their program undergoes seven months of intense training to prepare them to serve God wherever He calls. Timothy’s Abode recently celebrated its 5th graduation of missionary candidates. Marco, one of the graduates, is their first Quichua student. Rob and Esther share, “His final project is focused on the Quichua people in the unreached communities in the Chunchi area in Ecuador. He is ready to church plant the first Quichua endeavor.” Marco’s father, who is not saved, had never attended any of his son’s graduations. However, he came to this ceremony “to see what caused this incredible change in his son.” Marco is already reaching his family simply by living as a Christian. Pray for Marco and the other students who come through Timothy’s Abode.

  • Pray for God’s hand on Marco’s ministry with the Quichua people.
  • Pray that each graduate finds renewed strength and joy as he or she begins full time ministry.
  • Pray for the current construction project that will supply more living space at Timothy’s Abode.

Training is an essential part of what AGWM does – establishing the Church by reaching, planting, training, and serving. Pray that God raises up the next generation of workers, leaders, and trainers to strengthen our Church body.

SOUTH ASIA

Teaching Children’s Ministers

Pray for children’s ministry leaders in South Asia. Oral Learners Initiatives (OLI) is one of AGWM’s International Ministries. OLI “is known for training villagers to plant churches through their Oral Learners Bible Institute.” NexGen, one of OLI’s initiatives, focuses on workers of the next generation. During a recent NexGen conference in South Asia, 90 children’s workers gathered for three days of OLI training. They received training in “Bible stories, memory verse methods, skits, puppets, and Bible Quiz games,” and heard from powerful speakers. OLI leaders have already heard from conference attendees who are applying this instruction and seeing a difference in their ministries. Pray for the fruit from this conference:

  • Pray that each worker will minister to children in effective, creative ways.
  • Pray that each child reached through this ministry will have a real encounter with Jesus and the gospel.
