Saravejo Youth Camp Salvations

Pray with us for the youth who attended camp in Saravejo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Sasser family ministers to the youth of Saravejo through a skate shop, Skate Saravejo. They recently completed their 2024 summer youth camp, Bijeg Iz Normale (Escape from the Normal). The camp grows each year as it reaches more students with the gospel. This year, students came from five different countries. There were many first-time attendees. Several students did not know much about Jesus. The Sassers report that many students recommitted their lives to Christ, several accepted Christ as Savior, and the Sassers baptized four students. They ask for continued prayer for these students as they grow in their faith journeys:

  • Pray that the students who made salvation decisions continue to press in and grow in their faith. 
  • Pray that those still searching will be drawn to Jesus.
  • Pray for the Sassers as they look for a place to relocate their church, New City Church.

Romans 10:14 asks, “how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?” There are people who would accept Jesus but do not know of Him. The Sassers ask for prayer that the Lord will call more full-time workers to join them.

HUNGARY

Water Baptisms in Hungary

Pray for the transformations taking place in Hungary. Bill and Melissa Chappel, global workers at Riverside Church in Budapest, Hungary, recently held their largest baptismal service. They baptized twelve people, including five former Muslims. The Chappels say, “Each baptism represents a journey of transformation and a significant milestone for our church. The anticipation and joy were palpable as we celebrated these new beginnings.” Let’s pray for Riverside Church, the Chappels, and everyone who was recently baptized. 

  • Pray each baptism candidate remains strong in his or her faith.
  • Pray for the summer camps Riverside Church is involved in during this season.
  • Pray for strength and peace for the Chappel family as they continue to minister in Hungary.
